Mating damselflies - Enallgma cyathigerum
Love is in the air- The male and female of this species are easily identified with the male being bright blue. They are usually found in habitats around ponds, lakes reservoirs and rivers as they lay eggs on plants just below the surface of the water. Once hatched they emerge as nymphs that live in the water and feed on small aquatic creatures. Nymphs eventually climb out of the water up a suitable stem to moult into damselflies.
