Blue mason bee - Osmia caerulescens
Coming into land - These are very small bees and only grow to 10mm in length. The females have a blue metallic lustre to there abdomen and the males are bronze with pale yellow hairs. This image shows a male coming into land on a flower. They are very agile bees that are beautiful to watch gathering pollen and nectar.
